Trevelin Eisteddfod & Anniversary Tour 2012
Are you interested in joining the Anniversary of Trevelin Tour in November 2012? For more information, including price, full itinerary etc. please fill in the form below, including any questions you may have.
Due to the high number of people who showed an interest in this year's Eisteddfod y Wladfa tour, we have decided to run another tour in November which will coincide with the celebrations to mark the anniversary of the founding of Trevelin. These celebrations are a great time to get to know the locals, with the added bonus in 2012 that the Eisteddfod has been moved to the same weekend.
The tour will start by the coast by Puerto Madryn where you will see the sights of this popular city as well as visiting Peninsula Valdés to see the incredible wildlife of this area, such as whales, penguins and many more! You will then visit Gaiman and Trelew, before starting the unforgettable journey across the paith (plains) to Esquel and Trevelin, which are situated at the foot of the Andes Mountains. Due to the fact that Argentina's seasons are the opposite to our seasons in Wales, you will be visiting Patagonia in late spring, and the weather will therefore be very pleasant.
As well as the many things to see and do in Patagonia, there will also be a chance to socialise with the Argentine Welsh in social events arranged specially for your group.
As there is a large cattle market on at the same time as the celebrations, there will be a chance to see it - we will also include a visit to an Argentine ranch, with a chance to learn about the types of animal that are farmed in Patagonia. Given that there has been such a high demand for some agricultural activities on our tours, there will also be visits to other locations of agricultural interest organised for anyone who is interested. For those who don't have as much interest in agriculture, we will arrange other excursions, such as a visit to a national park. There is a very wide range of things to do in Patagonia!
Do you have family or friends in Patagonia? If so, let us know beforehand and we can help you to track them down and arrange for you to meet - this is something we have done in the past and can be a very emotional experience.

Testimonials from our 2010 tour:
"Since I was looking to find traces of my father in Trevelin the trip was a wonderful success. Aled passed details of my father's time out his representatives in Patagonia, who enlisted Arturo Loundes to do some research. I am so grateful to them for the information they found and for arranging for me to visit Ivy Hammond, who remembers my parents. I found so much more than I was expecting and was thrilled with the whole trip. This trip gave me the opportunity to follow the path of the original settlers and to see where he lived. It was wonderful to see the contrasting countryside and to get a feel for the land. For me it was a very exciting trip - and an emotional one too." - Hazel Davies, 2010
"The tour of Patagonia could not have been better organised. Our guides brought Patagonia to life for me." - Sharon Rees, 2010
